The couches are, as the seats, of wood of walnut and of red velvet, with metal applications. Also they are pieces of elegant precision, done as a whole with the seats in Eduardo Puntí's workshops. They represent the section of a Gothic nave, with three very thin columns consisted of base, shaft and capital, which they support the projecting one. The cushion for the arms would be the cover of the Gothic nave. The effect looked by Gaudí is more clear bearing in mind the place of both couches: to side and side of the presbytery, in transverse position to the nave of the church. The profile draws a very original curve, which wraps the whole set and gives it pace; it is an advertisement of the future warped surfaces of Gaudí's architecture.
